Founded in 1991 by Márcia Treidler (Mestra Cigarra), ACSF carries the mission and philosophy of its parent institution, the Brazilian Association for the Support and Development of the Art of Capoeira. Mestra Cigarra’s leadership has elevated generations of practitioners and expanded the visibility and influence of women within the art form.
